Virtua Racing supports up to 8 simultaneous players in a network, plus additional live relay monitors that give dynamic views of the action during races. Virtua Formula was a 1993 update to V.R. designed for large deluxe style cabinets; this version of the game also added an 8-screen panoramic attract mode demo to the game, a feature that was also implemented in successive 3D racing games made by Sega.

This is a recording of the full panoramic demo across 8 player monitors on the bottom half, plus 8 live monitors on top, each corresponding to the 8 player car colors in order from left to right. There is a hard limit of 8 stations for actual player cars in a single network, but it seems that you can add even more than 8 live monitors to the network if you wish (at least on MAME; not sure about real hardware).
