Vlogging on a Galaxy S21 Testing the Internal Microphones, the Stabilizer & the Front & Rear Cameras
As mentioned in the video this is one of my initial preliminary tests of the Samsung Galaxy S21 and specifically testing it for vlogging but using its internal microphones. The Galaxy S21 records a stereo signal as it uses two microphones but I isolate just one of them in post, limit and gain it and then centre it into the stereo field.
This video was also to test the stabilizer. I only tested the difference in the stabiliser being off and on with the Galaxy S21 front camera, as this is the typical vlogging camera on any smartphone. I will do more tests with the stabilisation on the rear cameras but for now I'm actually quite impressed with the level of stabilization on the front camera of the Galaxy S21. Although other aspects of the picture are questionable but that may have been because it was really dull and the light was quite low, which in fairness is something that all small sensor cameras have a problem with.
I also tested the rear cameras in this video. I was happy with the picture quality of the normal lens but the wide lens was quite noisy. Again though, these things need testing in good lighting conditions.
As soon as I'm happy with certain settings and vlogging setups for my Galaxy S21 I will start doing a bunch of videos using the S21 for vlogging and testing various external microphones and I'll also compare it against my GoPro Hero9, GoPro hero 8 and Sony ZV-1 specifically for vloging.
While this is a very rough initial test please let me know in the comments what you think.
