Ultimate Monotype Challenge
There are 18 Game releases and 18 typings at the moment, why not make it into a monotype challenge that celebrate the Pokémon history?

I am randomly deciding which type to use everytime I start up a new game in the line and I am playing all the game in release order.

Types so far
Red & Blue: Ground Type (Beaten)
Yellow: Normal Type (Beaten)
Gold & Silver: Grass Type (In Progress)

Here is the spreadsheet I use to help me find out which typings are legible for which games.

And the spreadsheet I use to know how many Pokémon a boss has and what level they are at.

Here Are The Gameplay Rules
1. You are only allowed to use Pokémon that share 1 type in combat from the moment you can catch that type, until then only use your starter. Pokémon that evolve into a Pokémon with the shared type counts. Mega Evolutions count.
1. Clarification: You can use Charmander on a flying run. You can use a Mega Sceptile on a Dragon run, if you obtain the mega stone legitimately before post game and you mega evolve it in all battles it is in. (You can't have 2 megastones equipped at the same time)

2. You may use Pokémon that do not share that 1 type for non-combat reasons (Breeding, In-game trades and Field Moves)

3. You have to do the challenge without help from external devices, with the exception of trade evolution which are only allowed if the pokemon evolving is level 32 or higher and Sinnoh underground to get Spiritomb. (Online Raid Dens are therefore also Illegal)

4. You are not allowed to use duplicates. (You can't have a team of 6 Gengar)

5. You have to collect all pokedex entries possible within rule 3 for the relevant type.

6. A Game is considered beaten, when the final story Boss is defeated. This is not necessarily the League Champion. (A list of Final Bosses can be found in a different tab. Spoilers.)

7. You have to use the version of the game with the most amount of the relevant type. (If mono-electric in R/B, you have to use Blue, because Electabuzz is exclusive to Blue.)

8. Legendaries and Mythicals are not allowed in battle.

9. In a boss trainer battle you cannot use more Pokémon than the Boss.

10. In a boss trainer battle you cannot use Pokémon of a higher level than the Boss.
