Tonight I'm checking out the long awaited HLVR beta. I remember many years ago being so jealous of those who got to experience the initial release. At the time this was one of the first mods to incorporate hand controls using the Razer Hydras. So basically you could play this on the old DK2 in a similar fassion to what you will see here tonight. It blown my mind that even way back then we alreay were startingt to see these hand controller conversions happening in VR mods.

Flash forward a couple of years and it was announced by Wormslayer over on the Oculus reddit that he and trhe team that created the original mod were going to update it and release it and it shocked everyone in the VR community when this total conversion even gained a stem page listing! This was exciting because it meant that Valve was goinmg to let this proceed even though they had officially killed off the already included VR support that was in Half Life 2. But with all our hopes the mod and team went quiet for many years untill recently.

I was super happy to get an invite to the closed Beta from Wormslayer the other day and even happier when I read the briefing about this release and saw that I was OK to record or stream it so here we are!!! I acan't wait to experience this world in VR again and I am so glad I get to take all of you with me this time! [;]-)
