This Is What It's Like Inside The New Meta Store
24Last week I had the honor and privilege of being flown out to the Meta Reality Labs Campus in Burlingame California with many of the other Meta Quest Ambassadors. We were selected to be the first people outside of Meta employees to experience the new Meta Retil store.
I have to say that the store was very well laid out. Everywhere you looked there were interactive demos and very knowledgeable and attentive staff members. The entire experience was tailored to new users of Meta's tech such as Portal, Ray-Ban Stories and of course, Meta Quest 2.
The highlight of the store is the masive video wall and Quest 2 demo area where players will be projected onto the big screen in one of a few demos that can be selected. Afterwards, the player is sent a mixed reality clip of their experience which I have to say was a nice touch!
Overall, even though this store is now open to the public, it is still very much a concept store at this point so I wouldn't expect to see it coming to a mall near you anytime soon but I really hope I am wrong there... This tech needs to be experienced by new users and I feel stores like this will be a great way to get VR to mass adoption. If you live far away I would not recommend traveling just for this but if you are in the area then for sure drop by the campus and check this out.... you won't be disappointed!
