Apologies for the delay, I wasn't sure how I wanted to edit the rest of this run (since there are likely going to be a lot of boring/repetitive parts from here on out). For now, I decided to just do a lot of 4x speed for the amusement factor.

So, long story short:

I do a few assorted missions here and there and gather a bunch of materials in preparation for moving to my new homebase.

For the story mode, there's really no point in moving anywhere besides Snyder's Trucking Warehouse, since it has the most space, outposts, and the best set of built-in facilities. Of notable value is the built-in Machine Shop, which not only has the usual functions of one, but can also build any of the bombs you research at the Library (so it's basically a Machine Shop+Munitions Shop, only you still have to build a Munitions Shop to be able to research the explosives in the first place).

However, there is a rather unfortunate glitch where you occasionally only get a low-level Workshop+Alamo Food Storage in place of the usual facilities. No one really knows what the hell causes it, either.
