Wai Wai World 2 is quite the departure from the first one, removing all exploration and dumbing it down to the point where it could put you to sleep. It features some of the most basic platforming and slow-paced autoscrollers that I have experienced. You choose a character loadout at the start featuring four playable characters, most of whom feature that dumb baby Upa from another Konami game in Japan. To change characters in this one, it's a bit different. There is an item that drops off enemies, and it begins to rotate through a bar with icons of your available characters. Press up and jump to transform when it's on the character you want. The transformation lasts for a certain amount of time, and then it will default you back to Konami Man. In Wai Wai World 2, you will travel through ten worlds that will likely take you under 2 hours or so to beat. The saving grace is that they do add a little variety to break up the monotony, including a bump and jump racing level, a frogger level, and a shoot-em-up level like the first one had. Some of the music and levels you will recognize from other Konami games, such as Contra, This is kind of the same deal as the first one; overall, it's not a terrible game, it controls fine, and it sounds good, but for me personally, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. 6.2/10 -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/latenightretro
