📚 Description: Here is an interesting mod done to a staple pickup 1956 Les Paul Custom. The word on the street is that it was purchased and refretted by the 2nd owner in 1969 and then in 1970, he had a local artist, James Rizzi, sketch artwork onto it that was later finished in aniline dye by someone else. Rizzi then went on to become a pop art star, so they met up with him to have him initial his work in the toggle switch control cavity.
The seller is asking a premium for the James Rizzi artwork. I think the market has spoken on this unique piece!
For me though - it has nothing to do with the history or refin job on this one. I simply wanted to share this guitar completely because I've NEVER see anyone use a mini humbucker ring on a Staple Alnico V pickup! Crazy... but I kind of like it?
