With a Battle Rating of 5.0, the Model 22 has one of the most questionable Battle Ratings attributed to the Reisen Naval Fighters as its top speed is at least 100km/h less than its Battle Rating contemporaries. However, what this plane lacks in pace, it makes up for in pure agility; being able to balance beautifully on its rudder, ailerons and elevators to dodge incoming fire and quickly come about for a shot onto target, much like the original A6M2.

However, unlike the A6M2, the Model 22 has the ability to maintain its moderate roll rate and control surfaces up to 750km/h, allowing this plane not only to engage in turn fights, but also in extended Boom and Zoom play-styles akin to those seen in the A6M3. Hence, whilst this Zero was historically a return to the form exhibited by the A6M2, in War Thunder the plane takes the best characteristics from both the A6M2 and A6M3, and combines them into one, easy to handle package.

Set-up:
7.7mm Machine Guns: Omni-Purpose Belts
20mm Cannons: Omni-Purpose Belts
Gun Convergence: 400m
Fuel Load: 45 minutes
