War Thunder Simulator Mode Tutorial How to Takeoff, basic navigation, and Landing.
Simulator mode has all aspects of a flight simulator, like physics, flight characteristics, and aerodynamics. It is much more difficult to keep the aircraft in the air in this mode. You can't easily pull off crazy maneuvers like in arcade mode, or realistic mode. You have to work around the physical limitation of your aircraft. If you push your aircraft beyond its limitations, you can very easily lose control of your aircraft stall and spin out of control. If you don't have enough altitude, you will crash into the ground.
Flying a real aircraft or real air combat is quite boring, it isn't as exciting as a arcade simulator. Your view is limited in this mode, you can only fly in cockpit mode. When you do a very demanding maneuver, you will lose speed quickly. To regain that speed, it will take longer than in arcade mode. Not only that, it turns you into a sitting duck. You have to be careful not to waste a maneuver, because if you mess up it leaves you vulnerable.
Take off:
To take off, it is all about centering your aircraft. You have to throttle up gradually and use your rudder controls to center your aircraft. When you get enough speed and lift off the ground, the aircraft will be centered. Raise your landing gear to get more speed by reducing drag, so you gain altitude. When you get to about 250 to 300 meters raise your take off flaps.
Basic flight characters:
In simulator mode, you have to be careful when you are banking, doing loops, split s, yo-yo, or other maneuvers. You always need to have enough speed to pull off any maneuvers. Some aircraft have higher stall speeds than others. Don't yank back on the stick too abruptly, or your aircraft can stall and spin out of control easily. To regain control of your aircraft, bank to the opposite direction of the spin, and use the rudder in the opposite direction of the spin. You always have to have enough altitude to regain control of your aircraft if it spins out of control. Try not to do any crazy stunt at low altitudes.
Navigation:
You have a compass in your cockpit, and a computerized map when you press " M ". The compass always point to the direction of your vector.
Landing:
Use the map and compass to align yourself parallel to the airfield, so you can circle around the airstrip. When your paralleling, lower your throttle to 70% and then 50% to lower your speed. Look to see where you are in relation to the airfield, and turn around to center your aircraft to the airfield.
Reduce your throttle to 30% and try to get the speed to 250 kilometers/hour. Lower your landing flaps, and lower your landing gear. Throttle up and down to keep your speed at 250 kilometers/hour, and level your aircraft. Try to touch down at 200 to 220 kilometers/hour. When you touch down pull back on the stick so the noise is pointed up, and brake as hard as you can. If you don't pull back on the stick when you land, the aircraft will tip over on its face. After you go to a complete stop turn off the engine.
