Description:
A jet is a little different than propeller aircraft in that it has a much higher take off and landing speed than prop driven aircraft. Thus, they are more difficult to land with.
When you deploy earlier jets in War Thunder, it is best to use them in high speed pass attacks. Go up to a high altitude, and jump enemy aircraft. Earlier jets like the Me-262, He-162, & the Meteor had poor acceleration, so you don't want to bleed off any speed in a dogfight with prop aircraft which are more agile.
The Mig 15 and F-86 Sabre are exceptional jets in that, they have very good maneuverability. The reason for this is, because the engine is mounted in the center of the aircraft in the fuselage. Not only that, the jets of the 1950s had better engines which resulted in more responsive throttle controls. Meaning acceleration was very good. If you used a Mig 15 against prop aircraft, you can maneuver well at high speeds. You can be a master of the skies.
A Mig 15 or a F-86 Sabre does not belong in a game like this, because it makes the game very unbalanced. The Mig 17 which was a more updated Mig 15 was used in the 1960s. The Mig 17s were used in the Vietnam War, Mig 17s were flew along side with Mig 21s. Mig 17s were able to dogfight with F-4 Phantoms, F-8 Crusaders, and F-105s and come out on top.
