My Faction vs The Nords on Hard Difficulty all damage are Normal and AI are Good.
Even with occasional lag at the beginning, I am happy that my PC can handle this much :)

How to Increase Battle Size?
Go to "My Documents\Mount&Blade Warband"
Open "rgl_config.txt"
Find "battle_size = 1.0"
Change ??? to desired value, 1.0 = 124 troops.
For 1000 troops "battle_size = 8.08"
