Survival is my fav mode in general, but it's also perfect for rank up unranked or forma'd frames and weapons. Khora is one of my main frames and I'm trying to make her loadout as efficient as possible. I use forma to polarize her slots to get her strangle dome duration and strength to the max. Every time you forma a maxed out frame or weapon, it goes back down to being unranked and you have to build it up again. One of the more annoying grinds to do, but totally worth it to maximize energy efficiency and power for your frame.

Yes, it's true, I'm a gamer at heart. I usually play MMOPRGs like Runes of Magic and Maplestory (which I just recently re-discovered) but my new guilty pleasure is WARFRAME.
