Wario Land 3 - Part 9 - Power of the Buttocks
3I must admit that I think the Wario Land series has one of the most amazing forms of 'ground pounding' that I have ever seen in a platformer series. The fact that Wario is usually pictured as a big and heavy man is enough to make his ground pounds have the power of an actual earthquake. Unfortunately we do have to unlock it first in this game though 😅😝.
Wario Land 3 is the final installment of the series on the classical Game Boy that takes a different approach compared to the first two games. No traditional platformer or a platformer with multiple endings. Now we are dealing with a metroidvania platformer! The game is still about collecting many treasure like we are used to, but now the treasures also actually help advance further in stages or even unlock fully new ones. The days of linear stage progressing are over. Wario needs to find his way through this complicated Music Box world to find the hidden powers of its former god. Can he find them and also collect enough treasure to be satisfied himself afterwards?
