WedNESday: Flying Dragon (The Secret Scroll) [SHORT]
0Based on the social media hashtag #WedNESday, I would sometimes do very short videos showcasing an NES game and host them on a mobile social media app. I decided to expand the reach of these videos a little and also post them to YouTube.
Today is Flying Dragon (The Secret Scroll) by Culture Brain. A part of the Hiryu no Ken series, this game features side-scrolling platforming along with segments that are presented like a 1-on-1 fighting game. I feel the platforming segments are mediocre, but the game overall tells a solid story for its time. I was always interested in the fighting tournament segments. The game zooms in a little, and the characters look nice with humorous details when they take damage. The game might not be talked about a lot these days, but I remember this being a little popular for a hot minute in 1989/1990.
