The 2018 season is kicking off with it's traditional Curtain Raiser!
Richmond, the reigning premiers are taking the field against their traditional arch rivals, Carlton.
It's been a long summer, where we have all had to stomach the constant ramblings of annoying Richmond fans who finally have an excuse to leave the woodwork and gloat about their team.
The sooner this is put behind us all the better.
Taking on the current champions are the rebuilding Blues, keen to put the Tigers away to start their year correctly.
But who takes home the bragging rights?

AFL Evolution features over 80 teams from the AFL, VFL, TAC Cup, NAB Under-18s Championships and International Cup, as well as multiple bonus teams such as the Indigenous All Stars.
The Career Mode will enable fans to experience the excitement of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season from both sides of the fence. AFL Evolution takes gamers beyond the field of play allowing them to manage the team via the drafting and trading of players, the salary cap, training, the tribunal and much more.
The Career Mode elevates the experience to another level once fans are ready to take the field. Fans can build a player from the ground up, then work their way up through the ranks from the TAC Cup to the elite level. Alternatively, fans can jump straight into an AFL superstar's footy boots and enjoy playing on the biggest stages in Australia.
The Player Creator allows fans to create any player imaginable through a vast array of facial features, height, body type, hair, ethnicity, skill attributes and accessories.
Some of the features Wicked Witch Software have revealed are that there is a 'be a stud' career mode for the first time ever in an AFL game. ‘Be a stud’-type modes in games such as FIFA and NBA 2K, which allow the player to create a character and guide them through their career. You can start as an (under 18), work your way up, play (in) the VFL and eventually get drafted into an AFL team. the player will be able to ask for trades if they don’t like the team their character is placed on, while also being able to start a career as an existing player or avoid the whole pre-AFL process entirely and jump straight into the elite competition. Also returning from AFL Live 2 is manager career mode, which is very similar to 'be a pro' mode in the way that you can start from the U18 TAC and work your way up, or you can jump straight into the AFL. Manager career mode also takes gamers beyond the field of play allowing them to manage the team via the drafting and trading of players, the salary cap, training, the tribunal and much more.
