Welcoming The Eternal Night: Elden Ring Finale
Well, we did it. Took WAY too long, but here we are. All in all, this game was honestly a little underwhelming. The open-world concept ended up feeling kind of empty and pointless to me. There simply wasn't enough going on in the overworld to justify it's size. Enemy groups were limited, loot was miserable for the most part, and the crafting menu was all but useless. So much so, that hunting as a concept was almost immediately abandoned. It also made doing NPC quests a lot more annoying with just how much space there was to cover in your searching. The gameplay itself was okay. As always, the skills and magics left a little something to be desired, and the idea of jump attacks was cool, but I found it largely a waste of effort. Finally, the story line was really cool, but just a little bit too convoluted to really make sense of. But that's a pretty standard trope with these games, so I can forgive it.
