Wet lines in racing is really a dark art. There are so many variables that every track, even every corner, has to be approached with a blank slate. In this track (PFI), many of the corners are crowned meaning the middle of the track is higher than the edges, so only the inner half of a corner is banked, and the outer half is actually off-camber. This means that a full wet line isn't likely to be faster. On top of the banking benefit of staying inside the crown, you also guarantee driving on the driest part of the circuit. The inside wheels may be slightly touching that rubber line, but hopefully the benefit outweights that.
