Let's talk about what Fortnite's microtransactions and item shop in Fortnite get right compared to other free to play games. I'll talk about what makes certain games predatory, how pay to win (p2w) games usually work, and how gambling microtransactions have invaded many games. I'll also talk about why Fortnite Battle Royale uses V-Bucks in its in-game shop. Overall, Epic Games' monetization of Fortnite is surprisingly consumer friendly and not predatory.
