What Happens When You Improvise Interstellar For The First Time - LIVE! | Cole Lam 15 Years Old
610I was honoured to be given the opportunity to perform on behalf of my school - @ThePurcellSchool for Young Musicians, for the Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood on the occasion of the Presidential Handover and 80th Birthday at the beautiful Reveley Lodge.
During my set, I thought I would play an improvisation based on the soundtrack from the Interstellar Movie. As those that follow me will know, I recently asked "what's the main theme to Interstellar?" - actually, there's not a single main theme at all, but a motif or musical theme that is used a lot in the many musical sections in the movie. Hans Zimmer really created a masterpiece for the movie.
So I have been listening to the soundtrack a lot, as I will be creating my own version, my own arrangement of "the main theme" to Interstellar. I actually was listening to it in the car on the way to the event, and thought why not play it here as a completely fresh improvisation, live as a debut of it. I have not actually played it through yet, so this was really a chance to let the music flow where it wanted to go.
Let me know what you think of it. When I have time I will create the proper version, but I like what this was.
