With the decisive defeat of Alf Wamaritan, and its djinni possessor dispelled, Sonic just barely made his escape from an empty White Space by unwittingly evoking a strange Boost. However, as he returned to his present, he found not only his friends waiting for him but also a grim realization: his Werehog form no longer fades with the dawn. He must now endure the transformation during the day and the night. 

He has to stay strong, both figuratively and literally. Strength is one thing the Werehog has always been known for. But what happens when strength just isn't enough? The Zeti, led by the mighty Zavok, descend. Sonic must dig deeper than ever before and rediscover what it means to be the Werehog—even if it means sacrificing his last chance at freedom.
