What if Video Games Didn't Exist?
With all of the news updates, reviews, and deep dives into various topics concerning video games that we and others explore, it’s exceedingly easy to take the medium for granted. Video games have been around in one form or another for longer than many gamers have even been alive, so just like any other entertainment medium, so it rarely crosses our minds that they very easily could have never existed at all.
If William Higinbotham had done something other than creating his interactive demonstration Tennis For Two, which is widely considered to technically be the first video game, who knows what we would be talking about now. Little did William know on that faithful October day in 1958 he was creating what would eventually become the largest entertainment medium of all time. But what if he never did? What if Video Games didn’t exist?
