In this video, we explain how Amazon's EBS can be expanded or shrunk according to the user's needs, offering low latency and high reliability. We draw a comparison to the popular children's cartoon 'Doraemon' to illustrate these concepts.
✅ What is AWS EBS Volumes?
Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) is a scalable, high-performance block storage service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). It is primarily used with Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances. EBS volumes are designed to be highly available and reliable, providing persistent storage that can be attached to EC2 instances.
✅How Does AWS EBS Work?
To guarantee high availability and durability, an EBS volume is automatically replicated inside its Availability Zone upon creation. EBS volumes enable flexible and dynamic storage management since they are simple to attach to and remove from EC2 instances. EBS volume data endures throughout the lifecycle of the EC2 instance, thus even if the instance is stopped or terminated, it doesn't lose its contents.
✅ How to Increase AWS EBS Volume Size?
Open the Amazon EC2 Console:
Sign in to the AWS Management Console.
Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/.
Navigate to Volumes:
In the navigation pane, choose ""Volumes"" under ""Elastic Block Store.""
Select the Volume:
Find the EBS volume you want to resize.
Select the volume by clicking the checkbox next to it.
Modify the Volume:
Click on the ""Actions"" button, then choose ""Modify Volume.""
In the Modify Volume dialog box, increase the size (GiB) to your desired value.
