FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that their next title is in the final stages of development. In a recent interview with 4gamer, Miyazaki discussed the different projects they have underway.

Miyazaki confirmed that their next title is in "final stages of development". Based on previous statements, the game has been in development/planning since around 2016. Rumoured to be a new Armored Core game, based on a leak from a consumer survey in January. In a 2017 interview with IGN, Miyazaki confirmed they were working on a new Armored Core. The last title in the long-running series was 2015's Armored Core Verdict Day.

On his own new project in early development:
“As director, I’m already working on the next title. In the medium to long term, I’d like to work on a more abstract fantasy than the past titles.”

Balancing his roles as president/director, supervising other projects he's not leading:
“But in that case, I’m not the director, I’m not the subject of the vision, and I can’t take responsibility until the very end, so I feel that any unnecessary intervention would have a lot of negative effects on the game and the project.”
