A favourite debate from 2016: The Iraq war left us acutely aware of the dangers of intervening in foreign lands. Yet the outrages of Isis have demanded a response. Or is morality irrelevant in foreign affairs and our interest all that matters?

Lindsey German: A prominent left-wing activist, Lindsey German co-founded the Stop the War Coalition, and was former Editor of The Socialist Review

Hew Strachan: Professor of International Relations at St. Andrews, Strachan is a world-renowned expert on war, military strategy and the British Army.
