What is the new monster from the second season of The Witcher shown at WitcherCon? We tell you everything we know
The cast of The Witcher showed during WitcherCon one of the new monsters of the second season. We tell you everything we know about the creature!
The cast of The Witcher offered us a small clue during The WitcherCon about a new monster that will appear in the second season of the series: a Leshy.
During the panel dedicated to the series, several cast members chatted about different aspects of the characters and showed a brief preview of a new creature, which actor Paul Bullion (Lambert) identified as a Leshy, who lives in the woods. A short and disturbing video showed what appeared to be a long hand with tree branch-shaped claws sitting on a table, although since much of the body is made of tree branches, it is possible that this is a piece of the already dead beast... or not.
The Leshy or Leshen, as they appear in the games, are forest monsters with deer skulls per head, branch-shaped limbs and huge horns. In their appearance in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, they can summon flocks of crows or wolves to help them fight, and they can turn into clouds of smoke, making them harder to hit. They have a reputation for being hostile to travelers and for destroying everything they decide to attack in a way that leaves no trace.
"Leshens inhabit dense and unspoiled forests. They are very territorial creatures and hunt with stealth and cunning as their only companions. They use their innate magic to control the plants and animals in their territory, so when lurking at them, half the combat consists of getting close enough to attack them. Leshens who are old enough to have earned the nickname "ancients" have advanced skills and tactics that make them particularly dangerous creatures."
As for the second season of The Witcher, we got to see a new trailer and its premiere date, which is set on December 17. In addition to all this, we knew the number and names of the episodes of the second season of the series.
Netflix also announced that the wait until the second season will be more bearable with the release of the animated film The Witcher: The Wolf's Nightmare and the next-generation version of the video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will feature free DLCs related to the Netflix series
