What is the Origin of Tasslehoff's Name? in AD&D2e DragonLance
A quick video discussing the possible meaning origins of Tasslehoff Burrfoot's name(s) as it is Described in the TSR era AD&D2e Boxed set and New Tales expansion published by TSR in the Early 90's. *It should be noted according to the Kencyclopedia* Margaret Weis had suggested neither HER, nor Harold Johnson (the man who helped create Kender*); had anything to do with the 'Kalin' name as it was most likely added by TSR in the'Tales of The Lance boxed set and New Tales. The story however seems intriguing and given the lore; it fits. Barbarians/Plainsmen in Tasslehoff's early travels had never seen a Kender with a Topknot shouting "Tassle' 'Hoff" (Hoff being German for 'Farm') implying that his Topknot resembled the tail end of a Horse. He later gave Flint a Helm with a Tassle on it that Flint swore was Griffon as he was allergic to horses (and Kender). It's not necessarily Canon but it makes a good inside joke at an AD&D second edition gaming table! 30plus years of DragonLance Content waiting to be discovered. I've printed my own bound books I bought in pdf form thru Drive Thru RPG! Go buy some TSR era stuff. Who cares if Wotc gets their cut; get it before the cancel culture contingent decides to cancel it out completely due to percieved 'racism' or other nonsense that does not apply in a Fantasy world (sarc).BUY and PLAY what you want, you are an ADULT.
