What Lurks in the Forbidden Place? - A Robot Named Fight! (2021-09-12)
After having defeated the Megabeast and its core a good many times, I finally decided to check out the last major area of the game.
Despite having accidentally arriving in the Forbidden Place a couple of times on my own, this is the first time I've gone there intentionally. For this attempt, I wasn't just prepared - it turned out I was grossly overprepared, and outside of some tricky damage zones and especially the occasional scrambled controls, I could comfortably explore without too much worry (though the Artifice Helm certainly put an overall limit to how much I could do before running out of scrap).
I really like how the final ending wrapped up the story and explained the transition from the near-end of humanity to the Robot Gods to the creation of the Megabeast. Looks like there's still room for one more ending. The Robot Gods left in search of the Megabeast (or perhaps the remnants of humanity?) but never actually returned. Now I wonder if another DLC might have them reappear, assuming that the next game doesn't have a human-perspective prequel (or sequel?) where you fight against your robot oppressors.
