A video game's first impression is becoming more important now than ever with the rise of streaming, and if games like Bioshock, The Last of Us, Uncharted 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne and God of War have taught us anything, it's that a good first impression helps the player get invested in everything that comes after.

In this video I go through some of my favorite introductions (Ghostrunner, Ghost of Tsushima, Bioshock, Uncharted 2, Prey, Bloodborne and Arkham Knight) and discuss how Active tutorials, Intrigue and Atmosphere can make or break a game's introduction, and why that's such an important thing for the game to recognize.
