On Friday April 12 at 6pm at Back Lane Studios in the Roncesvalles area in Toronto, my show 'what' opened, featuring paintings and media art that I have produced over the past decade and particularly within the past six years focusing on material drawn from High Park. The centerpiece of the show was an interactive installation called 'High Park Branches' featuring proportionally accurate computer generated 3D models of branches that I found randomly lying on the ground in High Park over the past half year. You can see the final results - the prints and paintings generated by interaction with this installation - on the largest wall in the gallery.
The reception was good - with plenty of engagement and good questions. I am very encouraged by the people who showed up. This is a quick walk-through an hour and half before the opening.
