My Steam Deck OLED 512gb came with the Shiny, Glossy Screen, and I was very, very impressed the first time I fired it up. The blacks were so black, and the whites so white!
I feverishly fixed a screen protector to my new purchase, only to discover that I had ordered the wrong finish - instead of a lovely glossy protector, I had instead by mistake added a matt finish anti-glare protector to my machine!
Initially I was disappointed - the screen had now lost some of its contrast - but after playing on it for a week or so, I think the anti-glare screen is a good choice, especially if you have to record gameplay footage of your deck under bright lights.
I'll be leaving my matte screen protector on my SteamDeck until I scratch or crack it, but TBH I think that when I do, it'll be replaced by another anti-glare one...
Thanks, Rob.
