What you might've missed in Helltaker
Making that was fun!

Clarification about the winning and losing dialogue: I'm fully aware that there's no moral distinction between the choices when it comes to demons other than Pandemonica, Modeus, Malina and Lucifer. The choices and their consequences there are more about the particular girls and who they are, rather than about who Helltaker is. When Helltaker is hesitant to helping Cerberus the consequence shows who Cerberus is. With Zdrada you have to choose the opposite of what you want, because Zdrada is a bitch. To be more precise, her name comes from the Polish word for betrayal or treason, and that's the reason why the correct choice is to be hesitant. Reverse psychology. Azazel's choices just serve to show who she is and what heaven looks like in the world of this game. Justice is awesome, 'nuff said. While those conversations don't back up my interpretation, they don't contradict it either which is why I think this interpretation is consistent with the whole game.
Coming back to the four demons I used to back up my interpretation:
-Pandemonica's choices are either suggesting going to Helltaker's place, or doing her a favor, and the latter is the nicer choice of the 2.
-Modeus choices represent giving in to an urge, to lust, or delaying gratification in order to get more of something later. While the latter choice can be seen as also lustful or greedy, its nonetheless a smarter and more conscious choice, therefore representing more virtue (the virtue here being able to resist urges and thinking long term).
-Malina's correct choice could be seen as also lustful, if you equate "play" to "having sex", but just like with other demons, it's important to compare this choice to the losing one. Here one choice can *potentially* mean sex, while the other is CERTAIN masochism. Additionally, when Malina says she thinks that "play" means playing Heroes 3, ekhm, I mean turn based strategies, Helltaker doesn't object, which shows that regardless of his original intention behind the question, he is fine with turn based strategies, and if you ask me, that proves this choice doesn't represent lust.
-Lucifer first choices are simple to explain. "Yes my queen!" means Helltaker forgot or abandoned his dream for seemingly no reason, while the other is just a suggestion of joining his harem. The second set of choices represents either pride, or treating Lucifer like a person, and trying to persuade her with logic, by literally telling her what he can offer. Here is the clearest distinction between a selfish prideful choice and a logical and respectful choice.
Final small note: morality here is obviously
a) standard christian morality and
b) simple morality.
Helltaker isn't about exploring morality or questioning it, it just also contains a simple christian version of it, and I think many people could miss that. I just think it's cool how subtly it's sewn into the game in a few places.
Ok, so that's it for clarifications and making sure I'm understood.
Now my usual rant in the description.
I said making this video was fun. But what was even more fun was figuring out how to game the youtube system. I went all in with the tags so that this video will get recommended in just the right places. Assuming it won't get killed with dislikes and that my understanding of youtube is correct it will get tons of views (dare I say, more than my crappy Diebuster analysis?). I guess gaming the system kinda worked with the Komi video. Hard to tell because Komi is popular as is, but even then, being the 12th result when searching "Komi san" on youtube means SOMETHING had to work. Tho I'd actually like if people watched this video, not just clicked on it and left a dumb comment like with my recent... blockbuster... Ah, whatever, I doubt Helltaker's fanbase is even nearly as rabid as Komi's, and even if it is, this video doesn't criticise it, so all should be good.
