When Blocks Don't Block
Here's a quick speed trick in the SNES version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Whenever Link pushes a square block (like the ones you see ALL OVER in puzzles) that block will temporarily lose its ability to stop projectiles while it's moving.
In other words, if you push a block and shoot something at it while it's still moving, that projection will pass right over it. Or through it I guess.
In this particular puzzle room in Misery Mire (the 6th Crystal Palace) using the Fire Rod just as you push the square blocks allows Link to shoot fire over the obstacle and directly into the torch.
This trick saves you a few good seconds during this particular puzzle if you're speedrunning. Otherwise, it's just kinda fun to do!
