When Portrait Proportions Go Wrong | Fixing Painting Mistakes
6This video features a quick discussion on getting proportion sizes wrong, and how even with practice, this can so easily happen without measuring tools. I made a point when I first started learning to paint to also practice freehand portraits, but even 240+ paintings into this, I still make proportional mistakes often. I'm better than I was at the start, but still a lot of practice needed. This portrait is a commission of a kid in a cowboy hat - seems like a solid likeness from the photo, but I did have to fix the hat later.
