SEGA addressed the whole "you need a joystick for 3D games" thing with their 3D Control Pad, a new controller released part-way through the Saturn's lifespan to give players greater precision in 3D games... or at least those that supported it.

It didn't catch on unfortunately, and not many games outside of Japan supported the 3D pad properly. It'll work of course, as there's a switch to change over to digital input, but full analogue support was only in a handful of games. Thank heavens I had a couple of them!

Note: for some reason I referred to the OG analogue controller for PS1 as the DualSense. It's actually the Dual Analogue controller. I'm not sure how that happened. Meh, mistakes happen.
