When Should You Start Learning Violin Vibrato?
349When you should start learning vibrato on the violin is a VERY important factor to consider.
I recommend you have the basics down first and have fully mastered them.
By mastered, I do not mean 'got the hang of' after a few months, but so you are at the point where everything you do is second nature.
This is usually a good year or two...
It isn't about just being able to do the basics, but more about time - and time is not something you can buy or get fast.
There is NOTHING you need vibrato for as a beginner. In fact, it can and will only hinder your learning if you attempt it too soon.
TIP: if your violin is shaking whilst attempting to do vibrato, it is usually a sign that you are not ready yet and need more time...
