There exists a gap in capability within the BAF that simply cannot be overlooked. While they have excellent variety of anti-air capabilities, their air to ground is lacking, mainly in a long range anti-ground capability. Though having access to long ranged munitions like cruise missiles, these are significantly more expensive, having limited airborne launch platforms and the simple lack in capability to purchase and mass produce these within 5 years. Thus the LAGARS (Long-range Airborne Ground Attack Rocket System), a joint Avalonian-BAF project was initiated. The goal for the LAGARS is to fill that void in capability that is both reasonably cheap and mass producible.

Multiple variants would be produced, both in guidance and warhead. With the advent of network centric warfare, information sharing is deemed paramount, hence the most commonly produced variants included GPS guidance. While not the most cost-effective in the role, an anti-tank variant also exists featuring laser guidance that could obtain target information via another spotter aircraft by a forward observer on the ground. This variant has a CEP of ~1 meter
