On February 2nd 1954, the Detroit Red Wings boarded a flight to northern Michigan in order to visit the state's most notorious correction facility the Marquette State Prison. Though a roster of hockey pros would soon find themselves surrounded by some of the country's most dangerous cons, what followed not only became the first outdoor game in both the Red Wings' franchise and the NHL's history, their match against the inmates of the maximum security facility soon became one of the most unique showdowns the league has ever seen...
