So Dying Light was a massive hit in the zombie genre of gaming. People loved it for various reasons, the beautiful open world, the crafting, the parkour, the zombie destruction, maybe even the story. Dying Light even came out with their little Battle Royal which was actually pretty fun, so when they announced Dying Light 2 in 2018 and showed it off at E3 in 2019, people were ecstatic. Of course, it got delayed and people haven’t heard much since then. But lets follow the bread crumbs and see what we can find out.
Not much is known about a possible release date for Dying Light 2, however, the delay has of course benefited the development of the game. Eugen Harton, the lead producer told Official PlayStation Magazine that “Delaying the game opened opportunities to nail down the story part of the game, choices our players can make, as well as up the level of open world opportunities that player will face” and “Building this world takes time and we want Dying Light 2 to be the evolution of what we started with in the first game.” Of course this is expect from a studio the size of Techland, but as recent games from large studios have indicated, size doesn’t always matter. It is good that progress is being made either way, even from looking at Cyberpunk 2077’s progression after their delay gives me hope for this games progression as well.
