Why Assassin's Creed Origins was Amazing | A Video Essay
554In 2014 one of the most infamous releases in gaming history happened. With not much happening with next gen consoles and little reason to care about upgrading, Ubisoft launched at the time one of the most awful releases in gaming history with Assassin’s Creed Unity.
This game was meant to be and even now gets looked back at as the pinnacle of old school Assassin’s Creed from the game play perspective.
This led to what many consider the downfall of this franchise but what we all collectively knew after the release of this game and Syndicate which came out a year later was that this series needed change and change we got. Origins Released in 2017 taking us to a time and setting that many within the fanbase were crying after. At the time it was met with plenty of love within the community for it going to where the community wanted to see the franchise go and the fact it was giving us an origin story for the Creed following a character with an understandable story. However 6 Years after release we here people saying “I don’t get why this game is considered good”, “this game is nothing but boring traversal” and the main point of criticism is that it's the first game that started the pivot towards a full RPG side of assassin's creed and later bring us games like Odyssey. So let me stand in defence of Assassin’s Creed Origins.
