Tech was supposed to be the great equalizer. However, statistics show that inclusion attempts over the past 5-6 years have had limited success. Despite having advanced degrees and entering the workforce in greater numbers than ever before, diversity issues still plague the tech industry. That’s why AJ Yawn and other leaders in the industry feel like it is our responsibility to bring up the next generation of Black technologists.

Decisive action and the ability to move fast and break things sit as one of AJ’s core values. He learned this trait in the military and has carried it with him ever since. To break things, you have to be willing to build something bigger and better in its place. AJ Yawn is that type of destructive architect and leader.
