Emperor Septim had ANOTHER Bastard son named Calaxes who in all likelihood the emperor had killed. But why?

Calaxes was born as an illegitimate of Uriel Septim VII and an unknown woman, being the half-brother of the proper heirs Geldall, Enman, and Ebel Septim, as well as another illegitimate heir Martin Septim.

According to the in game Book Words & Philosophy:

Though Calaxes was not in the line of succession to the Imperial throne, he had been given Archbishopric of The One: a powerful position in the Imperial City, and indeed over all Tamriel where the Imperial Cult is followed.

Rumors began to spread that Calaxes believed that the Gods were angered by the state of current Empire and the Emperor himself.

We also know that rumors circulated that the Emperors legitimate sons were clones created by daedric magic & tied to Jagar Tharns deception.

It was even said that Calaxes advocated full-scale rebellion to establish a theocracy over the Empire. Calaxes' relation with his father began to become very precarious.

Although I may hazard some fallout for this comparison, Calaxes rise seems akin to that of the high Septon in game of thrones. An ambitious man who wriggles his way up the political ladder, under the guise of serving the gods, yet thinly veils his deep ambitions that soon rival the throne itself.

Calaxes too, tempted fate a bit too heavily as:

One day, Calaxes mysteriously disappeared without leaving any trace. Some believe he was removed by the Imperial Guard as they saw him as a threat to the Emperor. It is suggested that former blade mistress, Lady Allena Benoch had something to do with his disappearance. A claim she does not confirm nor deny.

The wiki even goes so far as to state:

Lady Benoch served the Emperor in the Imperial Guard and was employed in many secret missions around Tamriel. She often had to travel from one side of the continent to the other.
Another significant deed of Lady Benoch was killing the Emperor's bastard Calaxes, who had hoped to revolt against the Imperial rule and establish a theocracy over the Empire.

Congruently, by 3E 433, Uriel believed all his sons beside Martin were dead, implying Calaxes was indeed deceased.

And that Uriel knew about Calaxes.

Whatever the case, his death was confirmed following the Oblivion Crisis, when the Septim Bloodline ended.

Ironically, as Emperor Septim had sent an assassin to put down his son, so too was the Emperor slain in a similar manner. And more ironic, that his blood was so precious during the crisis & he could have been integral in avoiding much of the crisis.

However, as the mythic dawns sacrifice in Lakies Arrius caverns was an argonian priest jeelius, that was abducted. Its safe to say that Calaxes was under threat, however the Gods do seem to have a sense of humor as his half brother Martin would give up his own life in the very Temple of the one, Calaxes presided and was chosen by Akatosh as his avatar, in the end.
