Why don't all simulators have ranked multiplayer ? Its time for change !
163Its pretty obvious that driving simulators need some form of ranking system to allow for enjoyable competitive racing. But surprisingly its only iRacing that offers this sort of structure by default within the title.
In this video we discus some of the reasons as to why many of the other simulators don't have ranking and then propose a solution that could work well for any racing game.
My hope is that one day competitive racing will not be limited to drivers that can dedicate the time to league racing and that anyone could jump in to a server on any of there faverate simulators , AC,RE,RF2,GSC and enjoy the joy the thrill of close driving along with the sense of a larger context progression from building a rank.
Now You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one ! ;)
The method suggested in the video is just a hypothetical solution however one way or another I think everyone that enjoys racing can agree that some form of ranking is something missing from the current simulators when its arguably as important as the quality of graphics and sound.
