In this video we go over the specific settings required to get the steam controller to perform close to that of a keyboard and mouse in game.

With these settings and a bit of practice you should be able to beat a good number of mouse and keyboard users whilst being sat like a slob on a sofa using a game controller !

Of course a mouse and keybord is more intuitive and easier to use in many regards but its quite startling the precision you can achieve.

The key settings are to be found in having the gyro sensitivity along with X and Y axes set such that you can twitch shoot as well as pixel aim without thinking. On top of that the use of the right touch pad for fast rotations allows you to navigate or rotate and stop fast to peek shoot or get people trying to stab you in the back.

Ultimately the steam controller is far better than an xbox controller for FPS games and I'd say gets impressively close to what is possible with a mouse and keyboard.

I feel with practice you could easily beat the vast majority of mouse FPS gamers with the steam controller and a bit of game sense. with the steam controller only really falling short against that top 10% or so of skilled players.
