Google has acquired Boston Dynamics- the makers of Big Dog, Sand Flea, Atlas, Cheetah, and other incredible androids and animal-like robots. Many of Boston dynamics' creations were developed on military contracts, including some issued by Darpa, the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency.

This marks Google's 8th major robotics acquisition in the past year. Why has the mega-company decided to invest in this field? The change will bring innovation, though some people worry about what else. Kim Horcher an Tim Frisch discuss.
