The family context is one in which you learn how to engage with other people, engage in relationships, and give and take in the relationship.
But if you grew up in a home where there was frequent arguing and fighting, manipulation and triangulation, cruel behaviors and insensitivity, and untreated mental health and trauma, you have likely picked up some behaviors you find difficult to control in your adult life.
