Why King Charles can't reconnect with Prince Harry 'despite much he would wish to'
King Charles is unable to take any meaningful steps toward reconciliation with Prince Harry due to Prince William's "animosity" for his brother.
Harry recently visited the United Kingdom to attend a Church service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. During his three-day tour, the Duke of Sussex did not see his cancer-stricken father. He published a statement claiming that the King was too busy to meet with him.
According to a friend of the Prince and Princess of Wales, "William wouldn't dream of telling his father what he can or can't do in relation to his other son."
"But what is true is that Charles's absolute priority is the unity of the monarchy, and given the extent of William's animosity to Harry, Charles can hardly roll out the red carpet and invite Harry and the kids to stay at Balmoral for the summer holidays—however much he would like to," they stated.
When King Charles' cancer was diagnosed, Harry traveled to the United Kingdom. However, the two met for only around 30 minutes before the King went for Sandringham, where the Duke was apparently not invited.
According to The Times, he slept at a hotel on his recent visit despite the King's offer to stay at one of the royal homes. The magazine also reported that Harry, Duke of Sussex, did not seek to visit his father.
