Kirby has always been seen in Super Smash Bros Melee, as being a low tier character. Never really succeeding that well in the meta due to many flaws the character has. Whether its his stubby limbs, lack of consistent KO moves, and just overall not competeing well with the fast paced environment of the Melee meta. Kirby has also been heavily outshinned by characters like Jigglypuff who do what Kirby is trying to do gameplan wise, but just way better. Kirby was mostly buffed during the transition to Project M/Project Plus, but he still lands in the lower tiers even in that game, despite all the buffs.
