Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is an absolutely incredible game and an improvement in nearly every way from the original, except for in the once place that matters most- the story. The games technical design, combat, and traversal is vastly superior to 2018's Spider-Man, yet the ambition of all the new elements and story pacing results in the narrative falling flat in many areas, such as Peter's symbiote arc and the final act. So I want to talk about what Marvel's Spider-Man 2 does really well and then dive into why the game left me disappointed.
