Why Temperature is a bad idea in Minecraft
15So, I was playing Minecraft… and I noticed that if you stay in the snow for too long, your hearts turn blue and you start to take damage. Which of course, got me thinking if a temperature mechanic could be properly implemented or if it wouldn’t hold up.
I understand that Minecraft has a choice for challenge philosophy and temperature technically doesn’t fall in line with it but if we’re only talking about hypothermia and not taking into account the nether being too hot or things along those lines. Then if take inspiration from something like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which implements its temperature system masterfully then I think we could possibly have a mechanically sound system.
